Primavera Sound Los Angeles Announces “Primavera in the City”
From the iconic Hollywood Palladium to the state-of-the-art Echo, to the unique LA Hollywood Forever Cemetery and the famous Wiltern, Primavera plugs into the places and spaces that have marked and shaped the soundscape of the city.
Performing artists for these urban shows will include New Orleans punk band Special Interest, Canadian ambient electronics producer Tim Hecker, French live performance extraordinaire Jehnny Beth and a double booking featuring the Mexico City-based band. Little Jesus and the Colombian-American rock band Divino. Nino. Next come shows from Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington’s Darkside project, Swedish experiential collective Drain Gang (Bladee, Thaiboy Digital Ecco2K, Whitearmor) and iconic London avant-pop band Stereolab. These will be complemented by performances by Los Angeles R&B singer Giveon, award-winning Spanish singer and songwriter Bad Gyal and Japanese rock band Chai.
The festival’s main lineup includes headliners Arctic Monkeys, Nine Inch Nails and Lorde, as well as James Blake, Mitski, Darkside, Clairo, Khruangbin and over 50 other artists. It will take place September 16-18 at LA State Historic State Park and will be the first US edition of the iconic festival, which just celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Barcelona edition.
