DUBLIN – (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – The report “Quarterly Review of the Mining Industry, Q1 2021 – Monitoring of Commodity, Production and Project Prices” has been added to ResearchAndMarkets.com offer.

The “Mining Quarterly Review – Q1 2021” report provides a quarterly update of the mining industry, assessing the latest commodity trends by tracking commodity prices and global and company production of coal, ore of iron, gold and copper.

Analysis is provided on the momentum of the project, based on the projects which started their activities and progressed in the first quarter of 2021. In addition, the report also provides a detailed analysis of the development projects in the mining industry, separated by country, raw material and company and development capital expenditure for major miners. The report also analyzes the impact of the coronavirus on the global mining industry, digitization and ESG in mining.

The development of COVID-19 vaccines and improved economic prospects have reduced gold’s appeal as a safe haven in the first quarter of 2021. Overall, gold prices have averaged at US $ 1,638.6 / oz in the first quarter of 2021, down 4.1% from the previous quarter. The dynamics of development projects fell from 1.5% in Q4 2020 to 1.04% in Q1 2021, a fifth consecutive decline, mainly due to COVID-19.

Only 28 mining projects progressed in the first quarter of 2021, compared to 40 projects in the fourth quarter of 2020 and 61 in the third quarter of 2020. Although the pace of development in Australia has slowed, it still accounted for a quarter of development.
