Atlanta Gear Works of Dawsonville Announces Agreement with McClain Industrial Technologies
Atlanta Gear Works of Dawsonville announced a new working agreement with McClain Industrial Technologies, Inc. (MiTek), which will bring more than 30 years of steel and aluminum contacts.
According to a press release from Atlanta Gear Works, MiTek will help the gearbox and manufacturing company “extend its 34-year reputation in pulp and paper to the steel and aluminum industries.”
“Atlanta Gear Works is a leader in the pulp and paper industry,” MiTek President Cory McClain said in the release. “We look forward to extending their same outstanding service and support to our steel and aluminum contacts.”
MiTek has been in business since 1987 and is headquartered in Alabaster, Alabama. The company has extensive contacts with mechanical maintenance decision makers in steel and aluminum rolling mills in the southeastern United States, and MiTek’s exclusive territory will include Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas and southern Indiana.
“We were delighted that MiTek became available to help us grow our relationships with the steel industry,” Craig Massa, vice president of sales for Atlanta Gear Works, said in the release. “Their 30 years of experience with steel will help us better serve our steel customers.”
According to the release, the deal comes at a time when U.S. steelmaking capacity is expected to increase even as prices fall, increasing plants’ need for transmission repair services.
“Given these forecasts, the timing of the integration of MiTek is optimal and should allow us to maintain and even increase our market share in the industry, regardless of what is happening in the broader economy. “, Massa said.
The release adds that Atlanta Gear Works will back its service to the steel and aluminum industries with the same promise on which it has built its reputation in other industries: “Any make, any model, anywhere , anytime, repaired or reverse engineered to equal or better quality. Guaranteed.”
